Lights over Archuleta Mesa
Oil on canvas
33" x 23.5"
2008

Lights over Archuleta Mesa is the companion piece to Breaking the Fourth Wall (2008), insofar as I painted them in concert and with similar aesthetic intentions. Both paintings also exhibit bolder colour contrasts (such as Titanium White against Mars Black, or Cadmium Lemon against Sap Green) than previous efforts, which perhaps lends them greater electricity and extroversion.

Archuleta Mesa is a plateau in New Mexico that houses the infamous Dulce Base, an alleged extraterrestrial-government underground facility wherein scientists experiment on predominantly human captives. Although the facility did not inspire Lights over Archuleta Mesa alone, I based several of the painting’s narratives on the Dulce mythos.

A beautifull painting :).

Harmonic and creative color combination.

Also the image has an symbolic style over its self (how Society works for one thing) , in addition being an display of Mexico s wonders ^^, (and of course your creative color display :) ).

I love how all the little things, that is going on around the painting, are chained together, in some way or another. I can't get enough of your imagination. :D

Not on dA any longer.

This is the thing I like about your art. In almost every other piece of every other artist I see here has a center-piece character or object, that, when it is gone, it removes the meaning to the piece. Even when there are many centre-pieces, they are so unrelated and out of symetry with each other that they can exist separately. In your works I see not only art but a beautifully planned piece of machinery based on life itself, where everything is in contact and helping each other run.
In your works, something dies, but, like in real life, you know the world will keep on turning, even if it must take a new path :3
