Artist's Comments
The Claw Machine
Oil on canvas 16" x 12" 2006 This painting depicts a human claw machine (machines often found in arcades that require the player to pick up a prize – usually a soft toy – using a large metal claw). The masochistic player, whose head is the coin ready for insertion, also serves as the machine’s second foot. The machine’s breasts, also serving as arms, are two encapsulated seasons. The Claw Machine was the first, and probably the best, of the smaller paintings with cadmium yellow backgrounds. I consider these paintings complementary rather than equivalent to the major pieces, and one should view them as whimsical contemplations rather than evolved expressions. Comments

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
